Emancipation - Can a non resident be emancipated by a Michigan court?
Question
I live in the state of Ohio and I was wondering if I could go to Michigan
to become emancipated by the courts without being a resident.
Answer
I believe the answer would be "No". The statute requires that you
must file a petition in the family division of the circuit court in the
county in which you reside.
