Emancipation - Where can I get forms to petition for emancipation?
Question
I am looking for the right forms for petition and guidelines to go by to
emancipate someone that I know. The mother has agreed to petition;
but we don't know how to go about it.
Answer
You may get a petition for emancipation from the family division of the
circuit court for the county in which you live. You may also be able
to get such forms on line at the following location: http://courts.michigan.gov/scao/courtforms/index.htm
You will find information about Michigan emancipation in the Court Library
section of this web site in the pamphlet "Support of Minors and Emancipation".
