School - May a parent require a minor child to go to school after age 16?

Question

A parent has to send a kid to school until the age of 16.  After that, if  they don't want to go, what can we do?

Answer

In Michigan, a parent has custody and control over an unemancipated minor.  A parent can legally require that the minor attend school until the minor reaches the age of 18.
