Marriage - Can an emancipated minor marry without parental consent?
Question
I am currently a emancipated minor living with my 18 year old boyfriend.
I am 16 and he has recently asked me to marry him. Can I marry before 18
even though I am no longer living with my parents?
Answer
An emancipated minor may apply for a marriage license as long as they provide
a copy of the Emancipation Order and proper identification.
