Probate - Must a devisee receive notice of all estate proceedings?

Question

If the Will says a friend gets a rocking chair and a granddaughter gets a bedroom set, and all residue goes to the three kids, do the people that get "an item" have a right to a full accounting of the entire estate?  The 3 kids do not want them to know.

Answer

One the devise is satisfied, the devisee is no longer considered to be an interested person and would not need to be notified of further proceedings.
